Vacancy: Forklift truck driver

Corrboard UK has a vacancy for a forklift truck driver, who will be responsible for identifying goods that are to be moved or handled, unloading and loading lorries and general warehouse/housekeeping duties within our factory in Scunthorpe, Lincolnshire.

The successful candidate will be able to:

  • Identify the goods that are to be moved or handled
  • Identify hazards from moving/ handling goods, and take appropriate action to minimise any risks
  • Use suitable methods to handle the goods correctly and safely
  • Operate take off (finished goods – direct from production)
  • Position and set down goods correctly in the desired location
  • Ensure goods are placed in areas where they can be identified and accessed easily
  • Identify any problems with the raw material at any stage and take the appropriate action to deal with them
  • Comply with company procedures and all relevant legal, safety and operating requirements relating to the movement or handling of goods.
  • Know and apply quality standards and procedures
  • Record data accurately for the use of reports as required by the company.
  • Undertake general warehouse duties/housekeeping
  • Carry out perpetual stock control on a live system
  • Demonstrate a good eye for detail.

Key ccountabilities:

  • The safety and wellbeing of yourself and others within the factory
  • Ensure compliance with legislation and company policy by notifying senior management of any incidents
  • Ensure the business has customer focus by identifying, recognising and fulfilling customer needs and requirements
  • Be proactive, seek out and implement improvements to working methods, systems and procedures
  • Establish close working relationships with other departments and customers to achieve co-operation, integrity and trust
  • Complete the administration functions associated with the role, including accuracy of scanning and stocktaking
  • Perform any other specific function which may be required as directed by the team leader/shift manager, once trained and competent

Ideally you will be computer-literate with an FLT counterbalance certificate either current or expired.

Full training on loading, scanning and the booking out procedure will be given.
